c) Purpose of processing and legal basis

The University of Bremen uses the data obtained during proposal/abstract submission and registration

to organise the abstract submission and review, if applicable including external service providers (Art. 6 (1) lit b DS-GVO, Art. 6 (1) lit c. DS-GVO)

to organise and realise the respective scientific programme (Art. 6 (1) lit b DS-GVO, Art. 6 (1) lit c. DS-GVO)

d) Recipients

The University of Bremen will not regularly sell or rent your personal data to third parties. The University of Bremen passes your personal data to third parties only, if

this is legal without your agreement (cf. § 85 BDSG (neu)),

the transmission is necessary to arrange the conference you registered for,

service providers which are involved in congress preparation need the data to render their services.

All third parties are processors we employ (Art. 28 DS-GVO). These are companies in categories IT services, logistics, print services and telecommunications. In the system, registered authors have the opportunity to see other authors’ address data which are stored in the database and select them as a co-author of their paper. This “author search function” shall be used for this purpose only.

e) Duration of storage

The data will be stored during the period of the contractual relationship between you and the University of Bremen. If the contractual relationship expires or you exercise your under Lit. f) stated rights your data will be handled according to the exercise of this right, if necessary deleted, so far as legal provisions stipulate a longer retention period.

f) Rights of the data subject

The data subject has the right of access, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to object and to data portability. Furthermore, the data subject has the right to lodge a complaint.
